Seacrest Beach Trip
Over Labor Day weekend we took a family trip to Seacrest Beach with Marty's mom. We headed out on Saturday morning - it was quite humorous how packed full our van was. Not to mention, we had Gracie with us from Atlanta to Auburn where we dropped her with my parents and had lunch. The boys did great considering how long the ride was. Thank goodness for Baby Einstein and Disney movies! Braxton did great with going potty as well - we stopped on the side of the road next to a pile of sand and he kept saying "beach"...we had to explain that it wasn't beach sand quite yet - too funny. Once we arrived at the beach, we tuned in to the Auburn and Alabama games - at least we got one win of the two. The next morning we were up and at em...we couldn't wait to get on the beach and soak up some sun. Braxton has been asking since early summer to go and we were finally here. Unlike last year, he loved the waves and water...he would have walked in further and further if we hadn't stopped him. Carter enjoyed the beach as well - sleeping on it that is. Both days he took long morning naps under the beach canopy. Mommy and Daddy got some r&r during nap time in the afternoon - Marty's mom was so sweet to keep the boys for a couple of hours while we relaxed on the beach. We had two beautiful days on the beach and then the rain came on our last day. We ended up heading into Panama City for some bowling and dinner. It was Braxton's first time bowling and he had so much fun. After bowling came ski ball and tickets. Braxton of course picked candy as his prizes - tootsie pop and laffy taffy. After an afternoon of fun, we headed to dinner at The Back Porch in Pier Park. It definitely made us realize why we don't try going out to eat at home...I was up walking Carter around since he was tired and fussy and Marty was dealing with Braxton while we waited for food. Thank goodness Marty's mom was with us so that we had an extra hand. Take-out will continue to be our friend at least for a little while. It was such a great long weekend and we were so excited to take the boys on a vacation (or as we now call it, a trip). We can't wait for our next one!
