Nashville Bound

Marty and I have some exciting, yet sad news to share.  We have made the decision to relocate to Nashville, TN.  It was not an easy decision by any means, but after talking about it and praying that God would give us a sign, it all came together about a week ago.  We are outgrowing our current home and knew one day that we wanted to be closer to family, so we started to think about Nashville since Marty's mom and sister's family are there.  This year seemed like a good time since the boys are still young and haven't started school.  We started the process by putting our house on the market on February 1st.  In 3 short weeks we had an offer and accepted it.  In the meantime, I had started to apply for jobs.  I had some interviews with a couple of different companies and went to Nashville for a face-to-face with a third party logistics company in early March.  Shortly after, I was offered the position of Sr. Project Manager of Implementations.  I was excited to accept.  It was amazing how everything started coming together, especially since the closing on our current home is slated for April 3rd.  The final step was finding a house.  Marty and I had looked at a few while we were in Nashville for my interview and found one that we liked.  It is amazing how fast houses are going there in good school districts.  The one we liked ended up getting an offer before we could place one - which when we started thinking about it we didn't like a couple of the aspects like the garage and back yard. Marty went back to look at some more houses a couple of weekends later and found one that we absolutely loved.  We were ready to put an offer on it and of course when we went to put one in, we found out it was already under contract.  The same thing happened to us when we were moving to Atlanta and it turned out to work out for the best, so we tried to keep that in mind.  After being upset for a couple of days, we sat down and thought about the other houses that we had seen and where we really wanted to be.  We made the decision that being closer to family and having Braxton be able to go to school with his cousin was most important.  There was actually a second house that we liked a lot in that proximity and after taking a second look at pictures, we got excited again (keep in mind that I have not even set foot in the house - only Marty has - good thing I trust his judgement).  After getting my offer in writing, we were ready to put in an offer and after a couple of counters, we were under contract.  The only downfall is that we can't move in until the end of May.  We are super thankful that my company is paying for relocation and we are able to have a furnished corporate apartment in the meantime.  This is truly going to be an adventure and Marty said it perfectly that this is our "March Madness" (esp. after the boys have been sick all month - ugg!).  We are excited for this next chapter in our lives but are extremely sad to leave our Atlanta friends who we consider family!  This next week is going to be pretty emotional for us.  We have developed so many relationships through E&Y and THD and saying goodbye is not going to be easy.  THD has been such a great company to work for and I am truly sad to be leaving.  We know this the right move for us and the boys, but are sad to leave our friends behind.  Thank you to all who have been praying for us during this process - we couldn't have done it without you!

Stay tuned...
