Praying for Marty's Mom and Tuscaloosa

We are so thankful that Marty's mom wasn't home when a tornado tore through her home on Wednesday, 4/27.  She decided to head to her parent's house, two doors down, to be with them during the storm.  Once things got bad, Marty's aunt, uncle and cousin (who live between his mom and grandparents) came rushing through his grandparents door saying "it's coming!"  All of them rushed to the lowest level bathroom and waited out the storm.  When they emerged, they were happy to see that the house was still in tact and the damage was minimal.  As they looked down the road, it was a different story.  When Marty's mom called him and said that they were ok, but she couldn't get down the road to her house, we could only imagine the worst.  Unfortunately, it WAS the worst.  Ms. Linda's house had been torn apart by the enormous tornado.  Marty's cousin texted him once they got through the debris and said "it's bad, everything is gone."  We were both shocked, but happy that the entire family was safe.  Marty left immediately the next morning to go help his mom gather her belongings.  Amazingly, her closet and dresser were still standing so she was able to salvage many of her clothes.  She was even able to locate many of her photo albums that were so special to her.  Thanks be to God for watching over Ms. Linda.

Our hearts go out to all who were affected by this disastrous storm.  It's so hard to watch the videos of damage and hear the stories of lost loved ones.  We continue to send our thoughts and prayers out to all of them.
