Christmas Vacation 2011

We were so happy to avoid any illnesses this year and were able to travel for Christmas.  Since we were headed to Auburn on Christmas Eve, we had our celebration on the Eve of Christmas Eve.  Marty and I exchanged gifts that night and Braxton woke up Christmas Eve morning to a bundle of toys that Santa had left him.  He had so much fun playing with his new Mack truck and Toy Story characters.

That afternoon, we got on the road to Auburn.  We spent Christmas Eve visiting at my sister and brother-n-law's house.  It was so great getting to spend time with our family and my brother-n-law's family.  We missed my sister Angelyn and her family since they were in Ft. Lauderdale visiting her in-laws.  On Christmas morning, we headed back to Amy and Mark's house to open gifts.  Braxton was so excited about opening presents this year - it was so fun watching him open the packages with curiosity.  We appreciate "all those items" from everyone!  It was such a blessing to celebrate Christ's birth with family and friends.

Later that afternoon, we also celebrated Braxton's birthday with family.  Since it was only 3 short days away, we took advantage of having everyone together and eating birthday cake.  Braxton didn't know what to do when we started singing "Happy Birthday" to him.  It's hard to believe our little guy will be 2 on 12/28!

We are now in the process of being productive at home while I am on vacation this week...many items on our "to-do" list.  Taking down the Christmas decorations has already been checked off the list; however, it was sad taking them all down.  Now on to birthday decorations.
