This week has been filled with birthday celebrations shared with family and friends. We headed to Auburn last weekend to celebrate mine (I continue to hold at 30) and my niece's (Mallory, 10) birthdays with the family. Saturday was such a beautiful day that we took Braxton to Hickory Dickory Park. He had so much fun playing on the slide, swings and walking through the tubes. Of course, one of his favorite things was playing with the mulch and dirt - true boy!
That night my parent's were sweet enough to keep Braxton for us while we went for a perfect date night - Outback and a movie! The next day everyone came over for the birthday celebrations at my parent's house. Mom made one of my favorite lunches - BBQ, baked beans and potato casserole. Mallory picked Red Velvet for our cake and it was delicious!
On Monday, I took a trip to the doctor's office since I was feeling some tightness in my belly every time I was on my feet. They were able to check me out and said that there weren't any obvious contractions and that baby looked good. Looks like I need drink more water and get off my feet if I start feeling a lot of tightness. One good thing that came out of this trip was getting to see our baby boy again on an ultrasound - such a wonderful early birthday present. Here is our little man at 24 weeks.
Since I had a bit of a stressful day, Marty was sweet enough to give me an early birthday present (Tim Riggins - Friday Night Lights t-shirt...I was super excited!) and some flowers to enjoy at home for the week. Aren't they beautiful!
On Wednesday, my actual birthday, I woke up to Marty giving me a beautiful gift - a necklace and pair of earrings. Of course I had to wear them to work that day! That night Casey was sweet enough to offer to keep Braxton while Marty and I went to dinner (even though she had to be at work 3 AM the next morning since our new THD website platform was going live - thank you so much Casey - you are too sweet!). We enjoyed a wonderful meal at Simpatico in Marietta Square and stopped by Red Box on the way home and picked up a movie (my choice) - Crazy Stupid Love.
Finally, but certainly not least, my girlfriends spoiled me with a dinner out on the town last night. We headed out to Two Urban Licks. I had never been there before but read that it was a perfect birthday celebration spot. That was definitely the truth...there were so many people there celebrating with balloons and cakes. My sweet friends surprised me with Gerber Daisies and even daisy pins to wear on our shirts. They also brought me a delicious cake from Gabriel's - cream cheese and chocolate mousse icing - it melted in your mouth! Thanks so much Elizabeth, Casey, Dawn, Krysten and Colleen for making the night so special. I am truly blessed to have such great family and friends.
