We celebrated Carter's half birthday on Tuesday (10/30). It seems like yesterday when we were bringing him home from the hospital. He is growing up way too fast - literally! His stats at his 6-month check-up were 19.7 lbs (75%) and 27.5" (90%). We are not sure where he is getting his height from, but were surprised to look and see that Braxton was 28" on his first birthday. At this rate, Carter will be catching up to Braxton fast, especially with as much as this boy likes to eat. He is still nursing/taking bottles every 3 hours and eats veggies and fruits 2-3 times per day. This past week we have started letting him cry in his bed for naps and night-night since we want him to get used to falling asleep in there. Before we were having to put him in the swing until he fell asleep and then carefully moving him into the bed. He has done well so far, but we hate hearing him cry it out. Hopefully, he will get used to it in a few days and be able to soothe himself to sleep. This boy keeps his Momma smiling with his precious smiles. His new thing lately is sticking out his tongue when he smiles - love it! He is also a busy-body...constantly moving when you put him down on the floor - notice the red mark on his forehead in the pic above from dragging it on the floor. We think he will be crawling any day now since he has been getting up on all fours and doing the rocking back and forth. Yesterday, he actually sat up by himself for a split second before going right back down to the floor. He doesn't want to sit still enough to learn to sit on his bottom. Happy Six Months Carter - we can't wait to find out what the next 6 months hold!
