Baby Sprinkle: What Was In That Tea?

My friends, Dawn, Casey and Elizabeth, were sweet enough to host a Baby Sprinkle for Baby Boy Booth #2 on 4/29 at Dr. Bombay's Tea Party.  It was such a neat venue where we all enjoyed a variety of teas and finger foods.  I think the Chocolate Tea was definitely one of the favorites.  It could have been what put me into labor a few short hours later (more to come on that).  Baby Boy was definitely spoiled by all the thoughtful gifts.  Dawn was sneaky enough to get Braxton's help on a couple of Big Brother/Little Brother onesies - they were too precious.  It was so special to have all my close friends there to celebrate my baby boy.

On the way home from the shower, I mentioned to Dawn that I was starting to feel contractions again and wondered if they were still those pesky Braxton-Hicks ones that I had been having.  I decided to give it some time and see if they would subside.  Casey, Dawn and I even were planning to make a trip to Scalini's later that evening so that I could enjoy some eggplant parm to help speed things along.  It ended up that we didn't make it to dinner after all because the contractions continually got worse.  I knew after I took a warm bath and the contractions were still coming, that it might be go time.  I called the doc and she told me to go on in to the hospital and get checked out.  Who knew that I would be checked into the hospital for active labor around 7:00 that night.  That chocolate or blueberry tea might have been just the thing to kick-start my labor.  I am so glad that I could hang on until the Sprinkle - it was such a special time with friends!
